Dwelling Status Check
|
Our Dwelling Status Check inspection consists of our inspector arriving on-site and digitally photographing the exterior only of an insured’s structure. The purpose of a Dwelling Status Check is to educate and train policyholders to be observant of potential hazards and how to prevent potential windborne damages. Additionally, our photographs provide a detailed benchmark for comparison. The main benefit to an insurance company is decreased claims payouts. We provide a door hanger to inform the insured of our visit to their property. It outlines the purpose of our visit and states that we have taken exterior only photos on behalf of your company. We take a minimum of 12 photos and a maximum of 40 photos per dwelling. We specifically document items that could cause obvious wind borne damage and/or become projectiles in a high wind event. We can upload the photos to your company along with a one page report and/or hold them on our server for your future use. We mail a report summary to the policyholder. The cost for this service is $2.50 per photo with a minimum of 1000 dwellings per month. With pre-event documentation your insured can be instructed as to the potential for loss caused by improper securing and stowing of items such as trash cans, lawn furniture, and swing sets. Armed with this information your insured can properly stow any such items prior to a wind event and you can exempt those items from loss reimbursement. Consider a one time, three month test in an area of your choosing. |
